My general interests are somewhat broad. I am interested in the differences of thought processes behind the Western and Traditional Chinese medicines. However, my research is concerned with concrete things—people, events, and processes. In the research methods course, Sally started me on a research project about an American medical missionary who initiated a public health education program in China in the early twentieth century. This research was very helpful for me with regards to how Chinese and Westerners thought differently on medical and public health issues. I am hoping that I will be able to do further research on how public health concepts and facilities are developed through interactions among Western medical missionaries, philanthropic institutions, and the Chinese people.
Besides work and study, I dream about travelling, and I like to visit museums, art fairs, and so on.
